About Diane

It is a great privilege to have the opportunity to assist others in their quest to achieve better health and fitness.  Whatever your goal may be, whether you are seeking a fitter body…a healthier lifestyle…sports conditioning…fine-tune your nutrition…I am here to share my expertise with you. 

My mission is to share my enthusiasm and passion for health and fitness and to help you Breakout of the Box that may be holding you back from progressing and achieving your own personal goals.

Fitness Background

I have been active in sports for most of my life.  My competitive athletic historysoftball, tennis, track and field, golf (tournament play), running (5k, 10k, ˝ marathon and more), triathlon events, cycling (road racing), catamaran (sailboat) racing, and bodybuilding (3 wins, including the 1997 AAU Ms. California Bodybuilding Champion at age 40! 

Currently, at the age of 51, I feel better than ever.  I am proud to say that I have achieved podium finishes in most races I have participated in for my age group, including Eppie's Ironwoman.  My current passion is trail running.  Wanting to share this passion, I started a semi-annual trail run series, the Folsom Lake Trail Run Series.  You can find out about this fun event at www.breakoutracing.com  Since I converted to trail running, I love running more than ever...I'm totally and completely addicted!!

Hobbies

I enjoy being active outdoors more than anything.  In addition to all of the activities listed above, hiking is a passion because it gives me the opportunity to slow down and get reconnected with myself, with nature, with good friends and family.   Kayaking is wonderful, too because of the peacefulness I feel on the water.

My Training Philosophy

My approach to training is to train the body as a whole; to include a variety of training methods that will ensure a well-balanced body.  Combining traditional Strength/Resistance Training, Functional Training (training the whole body with movement, including balance, agility, speed, power and plyometrics), Cardiovascular Training (including Heart Zones training), Core Training and Stability Training (including medicine balls, stability balls, Bosu, balance disks, mat pilates and more).  Training methods will be specific to your level of fitness and goals.  If you are an athlete, my sport specific training will improve your performance.  See my Fitness Programs to choose one that is right for you.

An important component of health and fitness is Nutrition.  Helping my clients achieve optimum health through nutrition is essential.  Please see my Nutrition Programs.

I am passionate about challenging my clients to be and do their very best and beyond. From the gym to the great outdoors, I provide opportunities and encourage my clients to try something new...a new sport, a new adventure…something they have not tried before.  Breakout Fitness is breaking out of the box!!
